Currently, internally displaced persons (IDPs) can access medical care through the Medical Guarantee Program. This program covers the cost of medical procedures for IDPs, regardless of where they are registered or currently living.

The Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion" has clarified what specific medical assistance IDPs can receive:

• Emergency care (no need for a declaration with a family doctor in this case);
• Primary care;
• Specialized care;
• Palliative care;
• Rehabilitation care;
• Pediatric care (for children under 16);
• Obstetric care (during pregnancy and childbirth).

Additionally, IDPs can obtain free medications or discounted drugs through the “Affordable Medicines” program.

Free medical services are available through a family doctor, therapist, or pediatrician.

IDPs should seek help in the areas where they have relocated due to the war. The healthcare facility must have a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) to participate in the program. After that, signing a declaration with a family doctor is advisable. There’s no need to cancel the contract with the previous specialist.

Patients with signed declarations can access various free services, including diagnostic, consultation, and preventive care for common illnesses.

IDPs don’t need a prior referral to see specialists such as gynecologists, psychiatrists, narcologists, phthisiologists, pediatricians, or dentists.
