For Ukrainians who have had to leave the country and seek refugee status due to the war, applying for or renewing pension benefits can now be done remotely. This service allows those who need to update their pension information during wartime or apply upon reaching retirement age to do so from abroad.

Here are two ways to apply:

1. Upload Documents Online via the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) Portal:

  • Create a qualified electronic signature.
  • Log in to your PFU personal account.
  • Select the type of pension under the “Pension Application” section in “Pension Provision.”
  • Enter your information as prompted.
  • Attach scanned copies of the required documents.
  • Review your application for accuracy.
  • Sign the documents online and submit them for processing.
  • Await a notification with the result in your PFU personal account.

2. Mail Documents Directly:

  • Obtain proof from the migration authorities in your current country confirming your temporary refugee and registration status.
  • Translate and legalize copies of these documents (contact the nearest Ukrainian consulate if needed).
  • Prepare an application and attach the translated and legalized documents.
  • Mail the documents to the PFU.

You can also open pension accounts online through the same platform.
