Ukraine Celebrates the Day of Dignity and Freedom
21.11.2014
Eleven years ago, pivotal events in Ukraine's capital captured the world's attention, showcasing the unwavering democratic spirit of the Ukrainian people. When the Azarov government refused to sign the EU Association Agreement, Ukrainians responded with peaceful protests supporting European integration. After security forces brutally attacked students, the demonstrations grew into a nationwide movement calling for change.
In those defining moments, Ukraine chose to fight rather than stay silent, to demand freedom rather than submit, and to speak out instead of giving in to fear. The Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred defended these values, and today, the soldiers bravely serving on the front lines continue to protect them.
We will not let anyone strip us of our dignity or freedom. Now, more than ever, unity and strength are essential. The Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion" honors the patriotism, courage, and determination of those who stood together in the autumn of 2013 and became the nation's voice. Thanks to their efforts, the world recognizes that Ukraine is, and always will be, part of Europe.
