Interactive Simulator for Communication with Veterans: Learning to Support Warriors with Respect
06.08.2024
Interacting with military personnel can be quite challenging. People who have never been on the front lines find it difficult to understand what our soldiers have been through. Concussions, PTSD, and nightmares are all consequences of being in abnormal conditions and experiencing psychological trauma. It's essential to recognize this so we understand that learning to communicate with them respectfully and adequately is our responsibility, not theirs.
To address this, the government has developed a special simulator demonstrating typical situations involving communication with military personnel. It helps users navigate these interactions and provides adequate support.
This program was developed as part of the "How Are You?" project with support from the Coordination Center for Mental Health under the Cabinet of Ministers. The app is part of the educational series "People with War Experience. Dignity. Interaction." It offers guidelines on proper interaction with military personnel and male and female veterans.
The Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion" previously shared information on how to communicate with female military personnel. The material is available via the link.
