Unfortunately, the reality for Ukrainians is filled with hardship, largely due to the terrorist neighbor that continues to send its forces to destroy everything in their path. However, calling these forces «human» is misleading, as the Russian army is full of psychopaths and sadists, raised far from civilized values. Despite this, they must still be held accountable for the tortures and crimes they commit. While it may sometimes seem like the world is blind to Ukraine’s suffering, no crime will go unpunished. Justice will be served, and everyone will pay for their actions.

The Charity Fund «Direct Inclusion» launched the series «Unpunished Atrocities of Ruscists» to document the aggressors' crimes. We aim to gather evidence for international law enforcement agencies and ensure justice is delivered. Murderers and torturers have no place in a civilized world.

The dossier on Sultan Pashtov and his crimes

According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), 34-year-old Russian citizen Sultan Pashtov, who serves in the «Chibis» battalion of the 16th Separate Brigade under the Russian General Staff, tortured dozens of kidnapped local residents during the Russian occupation of Balakliia, Kharkiv region, in spring 2022. These atrocities took place in the former district police department.

Survivors revealed that Pashtov took pleasure in keeping people locked in unsanitary conditions, leaving them hungry and thirsty for extended periods. He also attempted to coerce his victims into becoming Russian informants by torturing them with electric shocks to extract information about Ukraine’s Defense Forces on the eastern front.

Ukrainian law enforcement has charged Pashtov under Articles 28, Part 2, and 438, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for violating the laws and customs of war, which were committed by a group acting in conspiracy.

Punishment for the perpetrators

The Prosecutor General’s Office has confirmed more than 700 cases of torture inflicted by Ruscists on Ukrainians in the Kharkiv region alone. In Kherson, 160 people have been confirmed as victims. To date, 156 Russians involved in these tortures have been identified. Of the 114 court cases initiated, 35 have resulted in convictions.

During the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories, at least 80 torture chambers used against civilians were uncovered.

The Charity Fund «Direct Inclusion» is dedicated to finding all those responsible for crimes during Russia’s aggression, including Sultan Pashtov. He will undoubtedly be punished under Ukrainian law and international conventions for his crimes.
