Russian aggression against Ukraine has been ongoing for nearly ten years. During this period, we have witnessed numerous acts of extreme cruelty, with criminals showing no mercy to civilians, women, or children. After the de-occupation of the settlements and after the exchanges of prisoners of war, new facts of human rights violations committed by Russia are revealed. Often, terrorists document their abuses on video, which are later shared online. The most appalling aspect is that these individuals remain unpunished for their actions despite being murderers and torturers under both Ukrainian and international law.

Charitable Foundation "Direct Inclusion" aims to achieve fair punishment for all criminals. We are launching a series of articles titled "Unpunished atrocities of ruscism." For each case we describe, we will pursue an international search for the perpetrators and seek legal sanctions against them. Torturers and terrorists must not be allowed to continue living freely, working, or enjoying life until they have served their rightful sentences.

Who is "Olkhon," and what atrocities is he responsible for?

For years, the terrorist Maksym Tkhorzhevsky hid behind the call sign "Olkhon" and the alias "Vasyl Petrovych." As the former commander of the so-called "SpN Novorossiya," he even made public appearances wearing a mask to conceal his identity. Since 2014, he has participated in operations to occupy Zhdanivka, Vuhlehirsk, Horlivka, and other cities in the Donetsk region. His current whereabouts are unknown, but his comments on the Russian army's actions in Ukraine frequently appear online. Tkhorzhevsky has become a media figure, invited to participate in television programs and followed on popular Russian internet platforms.

One of the most infamous incidents involving "Olkhon" is the murder of Oleksiy Frumkin, a resident of the village of Komunar in Donetsk Oblast, who, according to official reports, went missing in late 2014. In a video published in 2016, a masked man brutally beats Frumkin, vowing to "beat him to death." Later, Tkhorzhevsky publicly admitted his involvement in the torture when asked to comment on the video. However, he claimed he did not kill Frumkin but was trying to "extract information about drug trafficking" in the region. To evade responsibility, "Olkhon" later deleted his comments. As of today, he remains at large.

The terrorist has repeatedly boasted on his Vkontakte page about inflicting injuries and killing others. He also detailed the interrogation and torture of Ukrainian journalist Yegor Vorobyov, who worked for the Espresso media outlet.

Among the unconfirmed crimes attributed to "Olkhon," as reported by eyewitnesses, is the destruction of a multi-story building in Vuhlehirsk using a tank. The full extent of the damage this terrorist has inflicted on Ukraine's civilian population is still unknown.

Every criminal will get what they deserve

The Kremlin continues to deny all these war crimes and shows no intention of investigating them. Russian propaganda claims that these tragedies are either staged or the result of Ukrainian army actions. For instance, Russian officials called the atrocities in Bucha a "theatrical performance," arguing that the evidence of their aggression was "unconvincing." Such cynicism will persist as long as the dictatorship in Russia prevails.

The Direct Inclusion Charity Foundation is determined to bring Russian war criminals, including Maksym Tkhorzhevsky, to justice. In the 21st century, murderers and torturers should not be allowed to live in peace. We will seek justice for their victims through Ukrainian law and international conventions.
