The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine changed the procedure for sending wounded soldiers abroad for medical treatment at the end of April. The mechanism is now as simple as possible, and defenders can receive medical care from specialists in other countries as soon as possible. Charitable Foundation "Pryame Vklyuchennya" tells what exactly has changed.

Ukrainian defenders can only be sent for treatment and rehabilitation outside the country by the medical institution where they were admitted for first aid. To do this, the hospital must prepare certain documents:

• the consent of the patient or their legal guardian to the processing of personal information and its transfer to foreign healthcare facilities
• an excerpt from the defense counsel's medical record in the form established by the Ministry of Health.

In addition, from now on, the hospital where the military person (key position) is staying can independently decide on the need to send the patient for treatment abroad. Meaning there is no longer a need to collect a bunch of unnecessary permits, wasting precious time.

The conclusion about the need for a person to receive medical care abroad is signed by the head of the institution and the authorized doctor.

How was it before?

Charitable Foundation "Pryame Vklyuchennya" reminds us that before the amendment of the CMU Resolution, a consultation of at least five doctors was required to send a soldier for treatment or rehabilitation abroad. This also required an order from the head of a key position.

Moreover, out of at least five doctors participating in the consultation, two had to be specialists not part of the state defense sector.
