Why is it important to continue donating to the army's needs?
15.03.2023
Many Ukrainians are aware of the feeling of losing the desire to contribute to fundraising for the military, even though the war is still ongoing, and support for the rear is currently crucial for the frontline soldiers. Just a year ago, each of us was ready to give our all for the sake of a joint victory. So what has changed?
Psychologists say that this is a normal state of adaptation that populations experience during times of war. Citizens have realized that it is possible to adapt to the war, continue with their lives, and even implement new plans. Despite the subsiding panic among Ukrainians, the situation on the front is still tense. Every day, thousands of soldiers risk their lives to take up arms and fight for our freedom. The charitable foundation "Pryame Vklyuchennya" explains why this is happening and why it is necessary to continue donating.
What happened?
At the very beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainians united to repel enemy attacks not only on the border but also in cyberspace and the economic sphere. Everyone helped as much as they could, thereby calming themselves and increasing their faith in victory. However, over time, most people returned to their normal lives, and the struggle moved to the background.
Another reason for people refusing to donate is a lack of trust in the organizers of the collection. With an overwhelming number of requests for help, stories of volunteer fraudsters can make people lose trust.
Additionally, people have a tendency to shift responsibility to others. Some might think, "I've already helped with other fundraisers, let others do it now," and find other excuses, like the dollar has risen, salary is delayed, or they need to buy a new jacket. However, as long as the civilian population keeps justifying themselves and leading a relatively peaceful life, the military will not get the necessary support.
Our unity is our real superpower
While we are all tired of the ongoing war, it is essential to remind ourselves regularly that it is too early to relax. Ukrainians thwarted the enemy's plans for a "three-day capture of Kyiv" because of their close communication, mutual assistance, and sympathy. To not lose the chance for a free and peaceful life, we need to make systematic donations to the army.
As we all know, war requires enormous resources such as ammunition, transportation, provisions, and equipment. Even what arrived at the front yesterday might need replacement today.
How to continue donating?
To continue supporting the soldiers, you need to find an organization that you can trust with your money. For instance, the charitable foundation "Pryame Vklyuchennya" regularly reports the funds spent on its website and publishes gratitude from people who have been helped. This serves as evidence that your donations are being used for their intended purpose.
Secondly, systematize the process. You can donate a specific amount every day, every Wednesday, or every weekend. It doesn't matter how much you donate as every contribution counts. Even if 100,000 Ukrainians contribute 10 hryvnias each, it would be enough to reach the goal. Joint efforts through fundraisers can help achieve targets.
Lastly, remember that it is never too late to join a good cause. Start a tradition of donating to the army right away. If we all follow this advice, we will see the results on the front line tomorrow.
