The war leads to the downfall of all spheres of life of Ukrainians without exception. The economy suffered the most. As a result, millions of citizens were left without work. The State Employment Service reports that today up to eight people apply for one vacancy. To improve the situation, the Government introduced the "Restoration Army" initiative, which will involve temporarily unemployed Ukrainians in socially useful work for minimum wages. What should you know about the "Restoration Army"?

Today, two armies operate in our country: one defends the borders, and the other - boosts the economy. All who work to bring our common victory closer constitute the "Restoration Army". Those Ukrainians, who, due to the impact of the war, lost their job, can join the initiative and receive a salary for it - from 6,700 hryvnias.

The main type of activity of the "Restoration Army" is the performance of works useful for society. For example, people will be involved in forming trenches or roadblocks, creating a supply of firewood, weaving nets for camouflage, preparing food kits for the military or internally displaced persons, rebuilding damaged buildings, etc.

Today, about five thousand people from 10 regions of Ukraine are involved in such work. Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna told about it.

Who can join the project?

Adults who are not included in the category of conscripts can perform community services. In addition to the officially unemployed, the following people can also work in the "Restoration Army":

  • displaced persons;
  • students;
  • people engaged in personal agricultural work;
  • self-employed entrepreneurs;
  • employees of institutions that have switched to operating under martial law.

Who organizes the work of the "Restoration Army"?

The local military command together with the military administration of the region has to organize socially beneficial work. Executive authorities may also participate.

Each "army man" receives a fixed-term employment contract and a salary of at least 6,700 hryvnias. This amount can be increased by local authorities with funds from the regional budget.

To join the ranks of the "Restoration Army" it is necessary to contact the territorial employment center and complete the appropriate application. At the same time, it should be taken into account that the initiative works only in 10 regions: Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Volyn, Poltava, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv.

Government officials say that the project is voluntary and they will not force unemployed Ukrainians to perform community service. This is reported by the charitable foundation "Pryame Vklyuchennya".
