Everyone knows that dogs are the faithful friends of man. The four-legged helpers not only save people from depression but also perform real work, which is dozens of times more useful today: they patrol the streets, find explosive objects, identify sabotage and reconnaissance groups, collect humanitarian aid and help to evacuate people from the frontline zones.

Today, the most famous of the furry helpers is Patron, the Jack Russell Terrier, who received a real order “For Dedicated Service” from the President and can boast almost 400 thousand followers on Instagram. But Patron was not the only one who helped Ukraine in these difficult times. Today we will tell you about other animals, which, together with people, stand guard for our security.

Stepan the cat

From the first weeks of the full-scale war, Stepan, a Kharkiv cat, joined the volunteer army. Thanks to the frenzied popularity of the fluffy on social media (his Instagram account alone is followed by 1.3 million users), his owner managed to raise over $10,000 in donations. All funds were donated to foundations that care for animals affected by the war.

Kate the Shepherd dog

Belgian Shepherd dog Kate is one of those responsible for the safety of the capital's subway. The dog is engaged in the search for explosive objects and weapons, accompanying her partner, Senior Lieutenant Vitaliy Lytvyn. In her spare time, Kate "communicates" with the internally displaced people in the building of the Kyiv railway station. In this way, the Shepherd dog helps people to distract themselves for a few minutes from the memories of the horror they had to experience.

Krasavchyk the Labrador

The fighting spirit of Ukrainian defenders on the front line is raised by the Labrador named Krasavchyk. The soldiers themselves say that the four-legged companion is more like a cat in character - he is also affectionate and calm. In addition to entertaining and creating a positive mood, Krasavchyk performs important functions during the mission. Once he even managed to save his owner, a military man with the сallsign Beskid.

The dog is offended by his fellows when they do not take him with them on combat missions. Immediately after the departure of his owner, the dog rolls in the dust or mud puddles and then goes to rest on his sleeping bag.

There are thousands of such helpers in Ukraine. In each locality the furry animals continue to serve on a daily basis, joining the rescue work and actively supporting the population morally. These pets make an invaluable contribution to the common future victory, just like each of us. That's why we need to take care of them by providing care. The easiest thing you can do is feed a stray animal in your yard. If you can donate, do it, because every life is important.
