The Direct Inclusion Charity Foundation has learned that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has recently adopted a resolution that allows citizens to receive one-time financial assistance for the purchase of solid household heating fuel during the heating season of late 2024 – early 2025.

The first to receive such assistance will be those living within 10 kilometers of the frontline or the border with Russia, namely people from Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions. They will be able to count on financial support in the amount of UAH 21,000 per household for the specified period.

The initiative is supported by numerous international organizations, including UNHCR. The budget of the campaign is UAH 1.2 billion.

Residents of the territories of active and possible hostilities are also eligible to receive assistance. Applications are accepted by executive bodies of local self-government or military administration until 16 September 2024. They must contain the following information:

• A copy of the identity card of the recipient and her family members (Ukrainian or foreign passport or temporary certificate of a citizen of Ukraine), TIN (if available) and IDP (if applicable) certificates;
• A document proving residence in the household (registration of residence or certificate of residence).

The application will be considered within 3 working days by the authorized bodies after its submission. You will be informed within 5 days or earlier after its approval or cancellation. The money will be received within a month from UNHCR via Western Union.
