The war forced many parents to move their children abroad for protection. Of course, many of them went to foreign schools afterward so as not to lose the opportunity to study at the same level as their peers. Some of the IDPs continue to study in Ukrainian schools through an online program.

The Direct Inclusion Charity Foundation has made several recommendations for those who want to return to Ukrainian educational institutions, created with the assistance of the National Information Centre for Academic Mobility ENIC Ukraine.

First, you must complete all the necessary documents.

If a student has fully completed his or her studies and graduated from an educational institution, he or she must have a document on the level of education, as well as an appendix to it containing a list of disciplines and their respective grades.

If you are just moving to the next grade, you must get a certificate from the educational institution with all the necessary data about your studies there.

In Ukraine, this can be done after a notary or translation agency has translated the documents.

There are situations when children have time to study both foreign and Ukrainian school programs. In this case, it is enough to provide the domestic school with papers from abroad to transfer points and pass annual testing in the relevant subjects to move to the next grade or receive a document on education.

Students studying exclusively under a foreign school program can follow the following algorithm of action:

• Graduates of foreign educational institutions with a basic or complete general secondary education who plan to enter higher education institutions can attend schools on an external basis and receive certificates after passing an annual exam. The second option is to submit regulatory papers for the recognition procedure;
• Students who continue their studies and have moved to the next grade should also go to an external or appropriate school, recalculate their grades, and take annual exams in important subjects to be promoted to the next grade.

It is important to note that the recalculation of grades and the recognition of documents can be done both at the school that conducts it and with the support of ENIC Ukraine.

Documents can be submitted to the EO in paper and electronic form, as well as by courier delivery service.

The set of papers must include a foreign document on education, copies of certificates of previous studies, passports of the applicant and the certificate holder, and consent forms for processing and verification of personal data.
