General benefits provided by law for IDP children

The main social benefits that parents of internally displaced children can count on are as follows:

• Accelerated enrollment in schools and kindergartens. All children who are victims of armed attacks can enroll in state or municipal educational institutions;
• Free meals in schools and kindergartens. In this case, it is necessary to visit the administration of the educational institution and have copies of the IDP certificate or a document confirming the status of a person affected by hostilities;
• Free recreational activities and leisure. Parents of an IDP child may receive notifications in the “Diia” app with such offers. If the application is not installed on the phone, you can contact the social protection services where the family is registered as an IDP;
• Social scholarships in educational institutions;
• Fast settlement in dormitories and discounts on accommodation. For more detailed information, please get in touch with the university's admission committee or the dormitory manager;
• Concessional loan for education. IDP students, as well as those who study in the frontline areas on a contract basis, can apply for a preferential tuition loan in accordance with the agreement. In this case, you need to submit a written application to the university's admissions office.

What are the requirements for receiving a social scholarship?

Students from among the IDPs must meet certain requirements to receive payments from the state:

• Studying on a budget and full-time or, if it is higher education, dual form of education;
• Age category – under 23 years;
• Be included in the academic performance rating;
• Not take an academic leave;
• Not have any academic debts or poor academic performance.
