All citizens of Ukraine, regardless of their military status or war victimhood, have the opportunity to receive a prosthetic free of charge. The state takes full responsibility for the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of prosthetics, as clearly stated on the Cabinet of Ministers' website. In this article, the Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion" will guide you through the simple process of applying and explain which certificates are required.

Firstly, one needs to prepare the following documents:

  • Passport
  • Identification code
  • Completed conclusion on the necessity of providing persons with disabilities with rehabilitation aids
  • For military personnel, a certificate of the circumstances of the injury and a combatant's certificate are also required.

  • Establishing disability is not mandatory for citizens who have been injured in war, but it is a necessary step for other categories.

There are several ways to submit documents:

  • Directly at a medical institution through a social worker or a representative of the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities
  • Through the administrative service center or territorial body of social protection
  • Online - by sending documents in the electronic cabinet of a person with disabilities
  • Further instructions for prosthetic referrals will be available on this website. Therefore, it is worth registering in advance. The algorithm for doing this is here.

A citizen can choose any prosthetic enterprise from the list. Then, it is necessary to contact the institution, fill out an official application, and save its scanned copy or photo in the electronic cabinet.

The waiting time for receiving a prosthesis depends on the injury's complexity and can vary from three weeks to three months. It's important to note that the state also guarantees the replacement of the prosthesis after the end of its service life.
