According to the Cabinet of Ministers, 25% of Ukrainian lands have been affected by hostilities. Mass mining is one of many challenges for the domestic agro-industry. Dangerous substances such as lead, mercury, manganese, nickel, etc., get into the soil as a result of bomb, missile, and artillery strikes. This can seriously affect not only the development of the country's agriculture sector but also global food security, as reported by the Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion."

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and the American company Corteva Agriscience have launched a joint project to restore the suitability of territories for agriculture.

Under the initiative, farmers from the regions affected by the war can check their fields for free for toxic substances and nutrients.

Experts from Corteva Agriscience will analyze the soil structure and a range of agrochemical indicators. In addition, they will provide recommendations to improve the condition of land areas.

To order a test, farmers must download the mobile application Soil Test. In it, they can find the necessary information on how to take soil samples and send them to specialists. The expertise lasts approximately one month.
