The terrorist state is trying to steal the happy childhood of Ukrainian children. The warfare has brought many families to the edge of survival: they lost their homes, fled to safety, and had to buy only the most important things for living. Children from such families can only dream of a new doll, a toy car, or a children`s constructor. To give the young generation joy and hope for a better future, the volunteers from the Find Refuge platform (a mutual project of the Ministry for Reintegration and Great Britain) launched a project, “Circle of Toys”. The Charity Fund “Direct Inclusion” dwells on the topic.

How does the initiative work?

The idea of the “Circle of toys” lies in helping children. The organizers state that the project has two groups of people: “givers” and “seekers.” The first category is those who send new or used toys to the little Ukrainians. And the “seekers” are those families getting the toys.

The initiative founders want to show the importance of good deeds. The “Circle of Toys” aims to make the world a better place by uniting people. Additionally, it allows adults to show empathy for younger generations.

The psychologists emphasize that it is utterly important for every child to have their toys. Toys are the medium that helps youngsters form their personality and develop cognitive functions, fine motor skills, memory, and attention. Moreover, it is a good way of reducing nervous tension. Thus, a toy is not just a child`s whim but a vital part of becoming a person in society.

How to join the initiative?

To become a “giver,” one should:

  • Follow the link and fill in the small form;
  • Look through the requests from “seekers” and respond to one or more. The requests can be sorted by type or keywords.
  • Pass the moderation and get the receiver's address by sending a photo of the toy. It does not have to be new, but it must be clean and functioning (as we all can agree that there is no good in getting a dirty and broken gift).
  • Send the package. Ensure it is paid, as the receivers may be unable to pay for post services.

Even foreigners or people who are now living abroad can join the initiative. The volunteers shared stories of help offers from Poland, Great Britain, Germany, and other countries.

How to get a toy?

  • Fill in the form on the Find Refuge website.
  • Wait for somebody to respond to your request.
  • After that, you will receive a toy at the address stated in the registration form. You can leave a review on the project's Facebook account or send a picture of your child with a new toy.

The Charity Fund “Direct Inclusion” states that people of low-income, large, and other families who need support and want to get toys for their children can be “seekers.”

Currently, there are more than 23 thousand requests on the platform. There are also almost 4 thousand registered “givers”, and these numbers are enlarging every day, as more and more people want to be a part of this good deed as it has become so easy!
