Unfortunately, occupants are seizing the property of citizens who flee from the war, and these brutal and terrible situations are not uncommon today. When this happens, Ukrainians often do not understand how to act. Where to seek help? Is it even safe to address this issue? Fortunately, there is an algorithm for actions in such cases, and we will describe it in more detail.

Where to apply?

Having discovered that invaders live in your home, you can apply to institutions such as the National Police or the Security Service of Ukraine. It is necessary to bring an identity document and ownership of housing. If possible, collect written statements from the neighbors about the illegal entry and residence of the enemy with all the possible details (number of residents and period of stay, etc.). You can also add such evidence:

• a general photo of the property, a photo of inside belongings with a detailed description;
• if possible – a description of the occupants' appearance, their approximate age, clothing, names or callsigns, etc.;

To apply a complaint about the illegal seizure of your property, you should use the following contacts of law enforcement agencies:

The Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion" notes that the application may be filled out by the victims and their relatives, friends, acquaintances, or witnesses of the crime committed. It is important to record such incidents so that all offenders are brought to justice in the future.
