Ukrainians continue to return home despite all the dangers. Among them are many children who have been forced to study for a long time in foreign educational institutions, whose programs and teaching methods are sometimes very different from those in Ukraine.

Package of documents for resumption of the educational process

Few people know, but the Ministry of Education and Science has introduced a procedure for children who have studied in foreign educational institutions for a certain period. It will ensure that students can continue to study their subjects under their "classes" without losing time for the months they "missed" in Ukraine.

To do this, adults should take care of the following package of documents

• A relevant application from one of the parents (guardians, legal representatives) in person, by e-mail, etc.;
• Certificates from foreign educational institutions should contain all information about the student, the name of the educational institution, the period of attendance, the list of subjects studied, learning outcomes, and the grading system (similar disciplines will be graded on a 12-point scale).

Without information, the student can take a general test (knowledge control) before the start of the new school year. The educational institution will decide whether to continue education based on its results.

Details of enrollment of students who have spent some time abroad

There are several nuances in resuming education in Ukraine after foreign institutions. For example, if students pass an annual exam in a subject not taught abroad, they are automatically enrolled in the next grade; otherwise, they are left in the grade they had not completed at their departure. Foreign courses similar to domestic ones are credited if the program is alike. Finally, the most important thing is that the student must, in any case, be admitted to a Ukrainian school with the opportunity to take the missed courses.

The Ministry of Education and Science also emphasizes that assessing a child's knowledge for admission to an educational institution is possible online not only now but also during the first semester. In turn, the Charitable Foundation "Direct Inclusion" advises parents to contact the educational institution where they plan to study in advance to clarify specific details.
