The population of Ukraine affected by flooding as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station can receive financial assistance from the Government and the UN. In this article, the Charity Fund "Direct Inclusion" will explain how to submit an application and who is eligible to do so.

State assistance

First of all, it is worth noting that individuals who were registered or actually resided in the flood-affected areas at the time of the emergency can count on financial support from the Government. Even if a person has left the temporarily occupied territory after June 6th, they are still eligible for payments.

The amount of assistance is 5,000 hryvnias per family member. In order to receive it, it is necessary to submit an application to the local social welfare agency or submit it through the head of the military administration (settlement, city) by August 31, 2023 (inclusive).

Among the documents you need to bring are the following:

  • Proof of identity (Ukrainian citizen passport, international passport, birth certificate, eID document, etc.).
  • Individual taxpayer identification number (RNOKPP).

In case of document loss, scans and photocopies can be provided. The application processing time is 10 working days from the date of its submission. The funds will be disbursed to the applicant's designated bank account or through a postal office.

UN Assistance

The United Nations International Organization for Migration provides the right to receive financial assistance to the population residing in the areas affected by the man-made disaster. The assistance is also available to residents of temporarily occupied flooded areas who have relocated to Ukrainian-controlled territory since June 6th.

The amount of this type of assistance is 6,600 hryvnias per family member. To receive it, you need to contact the local social welfare agency with the following set of documents:

  • Original/copy of identification document.
  • Original/copy of individual taxpayer identification number (RNOKPP).
  • For children, birth certificate and RNOKPP of the parents.

Evacuated Ukrainians will receive an SMS notification on their contact phone number after the decision regarding financial assistance is made.
