The war in Ukraine is still ongoing, but citizens continue to make plans, rebuild their lives and develop themselves in every way possible. The most challenging situation is now faced by those who were forced to change their place of residence due to active combat operations, as well as the veterans who have already returned from the battlefield with veteran status. These individuals are confused and unsure of where to go next and what to do in their "new" reality. To help them with this, the Ministry of Reintegration has introduced a new social initiative: an education voucher. The charitable foundation “Pryame Vklyuchennya” explains what it is, how to get it and use it.

More about the initiative

The education voucher is a special document that gives Ukrainians the right to pursue education in approved fields of study free of charge. With education voucher, individuals can undergo training to obtain a master's degree in their chosen or alternative field of specialization, as well as enhance their qualifications.

Veterans and IDPs can receive this voucher if they meet the following criteria:

  • They have not previously received similar documents.
  • They do not have a registered unemployment status.
  • They have a post-secondary or higher vocational education.
  • They have not undergone retraining at the expense of state funds for unemployment in the past 3 years.

The Ministry of Reintegration reports that individuals who undergo education with a voucher will have a higher chance of finding employment in their chosen specialty.

How to get an education voucher?

The charitable foundation “Pryame Vklyuchennya” informs about the list of necessary documents for applying for a voucher:

  • Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (RNOKPP).
  • Passport.
  • Employment record book.
  • Documents regarding the attainment of higher or post-secondary education.

With this package of documents, you can apply to any local employment center.

Together with a specialist of the employment center, you will write the corresponding application, select the educational institution, form of education, and specialization. They will guide you through the further procedure.
